Workshop Title:

Mastering Heat: Exploring Precision Roasting with the S7X

Abstract:

This hands-on workshop is open to producers, Roasters, baristas, café owners, and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of coffee roasting. We’ll work with the S7X all-electric smart roaster, which uses a combination of convection, radiant, and conductive heat, each independently controlled, to shape roast outcomes with precision. Together, we’ll explore how different heat applications affect development, structure, and flavor clarity, using live profiling, cupping, and group discussion. No matter your experience level, this workshop offers a technical but approachable path into modern roasting.

Bio:

Arash Hassanian is the founder of Roastronix and a leading voice in the advancement of roasting technology and education. With a background in engineering and a deep commitment to sustainability, he has helped cafés, roasteries, and producers across the Americas transition to modern, electric roasting systems. Arash works closely with equipment manufacturers, farmers, and coffee professionals to bridge the gap between origin, technology, and cup quality. His teaching approach is practical, inclusive, and rooted in real-world experience—from startup cafés to high-volume operations. At the core of his work is a belief that roasting should be accessible, precise, and deeply connected to the coffees we serve.
