Code of Conduct
We here do not support discrimination of any kind and expect that same level of conduct at our event. By participating you agree to respect your host and all your fellow competitors. We as Host reserve the right to ask anyone not adhering to our standards of conduct to forfeit their place in our Preliminary event and leave the premises if asked.

Who can compete
We welcome and encourage all people aged 18 years or older to participate, regardless of their color, cultural background, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion or spirituality, or any other identity

Competitors do not need to be residents of Hawai`i to participate, but they must hold a valid U.S. Passport or have 24-months of documented employment or scholastic curriculum in the United States of America

Registration & Fees
The fee for each Competitor registration is $40. There is a limit of twelve (12) competitors. Registration is first-come, first-served.

Supplied Coffee and Timeline
The Host will provide competitors with twenty (20) pounds of green compulsory coffee.

The Host will share the following details about the coffee:

  • green coffee supplier
  • origin
  • elevation
  • farm details
  • wash process.

Two-to-three weeks prior to the Preliminaries, competitors will pick up or be shipped 20 pounds of green compulsory coffee from The Host. Competitors must submit two pounds of the compulsory coffee roasted by the competitor from the 20 pounds green compulsory coffee provided by The Host prior to the event. No substitutions are permitted.

Coffees cannot be mailed to the event space nor to the Host. All coffees must be hand delivered by the competitor. Before the start of the competition, the competitor’s roasted coffee must be physically submitted to the Host or Stage Manager. Exact submission day/time will be shared by the Host.
